Remember those easy going days, when you could stay up all night, drink without feeling dreadful the next day and eat a pizza without gaining 40lbs? Well, you might not be hangover-proof these days or be up past 10pm but that doesn’t mean you can’t find new ways to feel a little younger.

I’m not talking about going under the knife either, did you know that more and more people are turning to natural ways and remedies to boost their energy and lift their self-confidence? And that includes busy mums!

Don’t believe me? Read on for the top 4 ways you can look and feel 10 years younger.

Shake up your skin care routine

I remember in days gone by, when I’d simply fall into bed and not even worry about taking my make-up off. Gross I know! But if you want to revisit the golden, glowing skin of youth then you’re going to need to do a little more than wipe away your foundation. From cleansing and toning, to a luscious eye cream – check out this guide to buying the ideal eye cream – exfoliation, and of course moisturising! There’s so much more to skin care then a quick baby wipe before bed. So, if you want to look and feel younger, you need to shake up your skincare routine first. And don’t forget to protect your skin against UV rays; add a little sunblock every time you head outdoors.

Be flexible and boost your core strength
As we get older, our range of movement decreases. So we stiffen up and feel pain in our joints a lot more. Increasing your flexibility and your core strength will make you feel younger and much more mobile. You’ll want to do more! Try a few Pilates or yoga videos on YouTube regularly. On the off chance, if you are new to the realm of yoga, you may want to look for websites that can offer you a collection of yoga videos for beginners to start with the basics. Initially, you may like to have two or three sessions per week to get your body accustomed to the stretches, and later maybe attempt some pro moves. However, if you’re worried about your joints or flexibility then it would be best to speak to your GP.

Move more

Groan. Yes. Like it or not, but if you want to look and feel younger, you need to be exercising more. You don’t have to pump iron at the gym or work out until your ears sweat. Just do something you enjoy that gets your heart rate up and your blood pumping. A spin class, walking through the park, jogging, dance-aerobics etc – get in touch with your local gym and see what classes they have available or check out your nearest community centre! Obvious health benefits aside, it’ll be good for your skin and your confidence.

Get more sleep

We all need more sleep. And not just more sleep – but good sleep. Not always easy when you have little ones at home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t practise good sleeping habits. Try to go to bed at the same time each night and avoid using screens for up to an hour before you settle down – not easy I know. Keep your work, or any other tasks out of the bedroom, and make sure it’s a place of rest and relaxation.
